LIPOSUCTION & BODY CONTOURING

Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that shapes and contours your body whilst removing excessive fats that are stubborn and failed to break with exercises and diet. This procedure is performed by our In-House Plastic Surgeon of high credentials and rich experience. It gives you a trimmer body whilst boosting your self-confidence.

Who is a right candidate for liposuction?

In general, good candidates for a liposuction include:

  • Adults within 30% of their ideal weight who have firm, elastic skin and good muscle tone.
  • Healthy individuals who do not have a life-threatening illness or medical conditions
  • Individuals with a positive outlook and specific goals in mind for body contouring
  • If you are bothered by excess fat deposits located anywhere on your body that don't respond to diet or exercise, liposuction may be right for you.

The Procedure.

Liposuction surgery takes about one to four hours depending on the extent of the procedure and is performed under local anaesthesia. For the body contouring procedure, a narrow tube is inserted into a small incision nearby the targeted area. Then this tube is attached to a strong vacuum which is drawn back and forth within the excess fat in order to draw it out while keeping the blood vessels and nerves intact.

There may be some pain, swelling and bruising after the procedure and your doctor may suggest wearing a compression garment to help hold the tissue together and provide support for two to four weeks. You should be able to return to work in just a few days and resume normal activity in about a week or two. The final results will be noticeable after three months.

Recovery Tips.

You should not try to rush your recovery, but there are certain things you can do to help your body's natural healing process.

Compression Garment

It's important to wear these diligently for 2-4 weeks atleast, as they help to reduce swelling and contour your body to its new shape.

Eat Well

Proper healing requires good nutrition. You can prep healthy meals ahead of your surgery since you likely won't feel like cooking. Be sure to eat well and eat regularly.

Include plenty of fresh fruits and veggies in your diet to help boost recovery and limit inflammation.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of broth and water post-procedure. Hydration is a key component of successful recovery. You can infuse your water with fresh fruit if you need a change.

Rest Up

Taking it easy and getting plenty of sleep in the first few weeks following your surgery are the best ways to help your body heal.

Take a Walk

While exercise is not recommended during your recovery, light movement can actually help to speed your body's healing. If you feel up to it, taking short walks is a great way to get moving without straining your body.
